You can use the Alexa app to pair Bluetooth devices such as phones and speakers to your Echo device. You can also remove previously paired Bluetooth devices when they are no longer needed.
Pair a Bluetooth Device to Your Echo
Before You Begin
• Place the Bluetooth device into pairing mode.
• Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on the device you want to connect.
On the Alexa App
- Open the Alexa app.
- Tap Devices.
- Select your Echo device.
- Tap Device Settings.
- Select Bluetooth Devices.
- Tap Pair a New Device.
- Select the Bluetooth device when it appears.
- Wait for the connection to complete.
Good to Know
• Once paired, some Bluetooth devices may reconnect automatically when they are nearby and powered on.
• You can also say, "Alexa, pair Bluetooth" to begin the pairing process.
Remove a Bluetooth Device from Your Echo

On the Alexa App
- Open the Alexa app.
- Tap Devices.
- Select your Echo device.
- Tap Settings.
- Select Bluetooth Devices.
- Select the Bluetooth device you want to remove.
- Tap Forget Device.
Repeat these steps for any additional Bluetooth devices you want removed.

• Echo devices can remember multiple Bluetooth devices, but only one Bluetooth audio connection can be active at a time.
