Purpose
Use this procedure when a customer wants to provide emergency responders with important information about their property through the Ring app.
Customer Symptoms
Customer wants to:
- Add gate codes for emergency responders
- Add lock box information
- Add building access instructions
- Add mobility assistance information
- Add pet information
- Update dispatch information for emergencies
Requirements
Emergency responder information may only be available to customers enrolled in:
- Ring 24/7 Professional Monitoring
- SOS for Cameras
Neil Procedure
- Open the Ring app.
- Select Menu.
- Select Settings.
- Select Monitoring.
- Select Dispatch Information.
Choose the appropriate category:
Location Access
Use this section to add:
- Gate codes
- Door codes
- Building access instructions
- Lock box information
People
Use this section to indicate:
- Mobility assistance needs
- Residents who may require additional assistance during emergencies
Pets
Use this section to provide:
- Number of pets
- Type of pets
- Important pet-related information emergency responders should know
- Save all changes.
- Verify information is accurate and current.
Best Practices
Advise customers to review and update dispatch information whenever:
- Access codes change
- New pets are added
- Residents move in or out
- Mobility assistance needs change
Troubleshooting
Dispatch Information Option Missing
- Verify customer has an eligible Ring subscription.
- Verify Monitoring services are active.
- Update the Ring app.
- Sign out and back into Ring if necessary.
Expected Outcome
Emergency responders can receive important property access, resident, and pet information to help improve emergency response when dispatch services are used.
