SmartThings Find helps locate compatible Samsung devices including phones, tablets, Galaxy Watches, Galaxy Buds, SmartTags, and other supported Samsung products.

SmartThings Find uses Bluetooth and Samsung's device network to help locate lost devices, even when some devices are offline.

Note:

SmartThings Find is supported on Android devices.

Enable SmartThings Find

1. Open the SmartThings app.
2. Select the Life tab.
3. Tap Add (+).
4. Select Find.
5. Allow the SmartThings Find plugin to install.
6. Select the devices you want to add.
7. Tap Done.

Locate a Device

1. Open SmartThings Find from the Life tab.
2. Select the device from the map or device list.
3. Choose the desired action.

Available Features

Navigate

• Opens navigation to the device's current or last known location.

Search Nearby

• Uses Bluetooth to help locate nearby devices.
• Signal strength increases as you move closer.

Ring Device

• Plays a sound on supported devices to help locate them.

Location History

• Available for SmartTags.
• Displays location history for the previous seven days.

Notify When Left Behind

• Sends alerts when a device becomes separated from your phone.

Notify Me When Found

• Sends a notification when another Samsung device anonymously detects your lost device.

Share Device Location

• Allows members of your SmartThings location to locate shared devices.

Lost Device Control

For supported Samsung devices, additional actions may be available through Samsung's remote device management tools, including:

• Device lock
• Remote data protection
• Device management options

Share Devices with Family Members

Shared members can access shared devices through SmartThings Find.

To view shared devices:

1. Open SmartThings Find.
2. Select Members' Devices.
3. Select the shared device.

Note:

If the owner removes sharing, the device will no longer appear.

Open Settings

1. Open SmartThings Find.
2. Tap More Options (⋮).
3. Select Settings.

Available Settings

Allow Devices To Be Found

• Enable or disable device participation in SmartThings Find.

Offline Finding

• Allows supported devices to be located even when disconnected from the internet.

Encrypt Offline Location

• Adds additional security by encrypting offline location information.
• Requires creation of a six-digit PIN.

Unknown Tag Detection

Helps identify unknown SmartTags moving with you.

Options include:

• Unknown Tag Alerts
• Search For Unknown Tags Nearby
• Safe Tags List

Allow Use Of Location Information

• Enables or disables location permissions required for SmartThings Find.

Add SmartThings Find to Your Home Screen

1. Open SmartThings Find.
2. Tap More Options (⋮).
3. Select Add To Home Screen.
4. Place the shortcut on your device's home screen.
