Answer:
If myQ notifications are delayed, missing, or not working correctly, use the steps below to identify and resolve the issue.
How myQ Notifications Work
The myQ app checks for notification events approximately every 60 seconds.
Most notifications are delivered within 90 seconds, but delivery times can vary based on:
• Mobile device settings
• Operating system restrictions
• Internet connectivity
• Cellular provider performance
• Battery optimization settings
Verify You Are Logged Into the myQ App
- Open the myQ app.
- Confirm you are signed into your account.
- Sign out and back in if necessary.
Enable Notifications in the myQ App
- Open the myQ app.
- Tap Menu.
- Select Manage Account.
- Tap Notification Settings.
- Verify Allow Notifications is enabled.
Enable Notifications on Your Mobile Device
Apple iPhone or iPad
- Open Settings.
- Select Notifications.
- Choose myQ.
- Enable Allow Notifications.
Android Devices
- Open Settings.
- Select Apps or Notifications.
- Choose myQ.
- Verify notifications are allowed.
Also verify:
• Airplane Mode is off.
• Battery Saver is disabled.
• Wi-Fi or Mobile Data is connected.
Verify Device Notifications
Notifications are configured separately for each garage door and camera.
- Open the myQ app.
- Tap the Gear (⚙) icon.
- Select Notifications.
- Choose the affected garage door or camera.
- Verify the desired notification types are enabled.
Check Camera Notification Snooze
Camera alerts may be temporarily paused.
- Open the myQ app.
- Tap the Bell icon.
- If Snooze is enabled, select Stop Snooze.
Check Notification Schedules
Notification schedules cannot span across midnight.
Example:
Create two separate schedules:
• 10:00 PM – 11:59 PM
• 12:00 AM – 6:00 AM
If a schedule crosses midnight, notifications may not function as expected.
Reinstall the myQ App
- Delete the existing notification rule.
- Uninstall the myQ app.
- Reinstall the application.
- Sign back into your account.
- Recreate the notification rule.
Garage Door Notifications Not Working
Replace Door Sensor Battery
A weak battery can prevent garage door activity notifications.
- Replace the battery with a CR2450 3V lithium battery.
- Test garage door operation.
Verify Door Sensor Range
The door sensor must communicate with the hub.
• Maximum recommended distance: 30 feet
If the sensor is too far away, notifications may fail.
Good to Know
• Notification settings are configured separately for each device.
• Camera notifications can be temporarily snoozed.
• Overnight notification schedules require separate rules.
• Weak door sensor batteries can prevent garage door alerts.
• Push notifications must be enabled in both the myQ app and your mobile device settings.
