A myQ account allows you to control and monitor compatible myQ devices from the myQ app.
Create a myQ Account
Step 1: Download the myQ App
Install the myQ app on your mobile device and open it.
Step 2: Start Registration
- Tap Register.
- Select one of the following account methods:
• Email and Password
• Single Sign-On (Apple, Google, or Amazon)
Step 3: Enter Account Information
- Select your country.
- Review and accept the License Agreement and Terms of Service.
- Create a password that meets the app requirements.
- Tap Submit.
Step 4: Verify Your Email Address
- Check your email inbox.
- Open the verification email sent from:
notification@myqsecurity.myq.com
- Tap the verification link.
- Return to the myQ app.
Email verification must be completed before account setup can continue.
Step 5: Verify Your Phone Number
- Enter your mobile phone number.
- Receive the six-digit verification code by text message.
- Enter the code.
- Tap Verify.
Step 6: Configure Two-Step Verification
Choose how you want to receive future verification codes:
• SMS Text Message
• Email
Select your preferred method and confirm.
Step 7: Communication Preferences
Optionally choose whether you would like to receive:
• Product updates
• Offers
• Marketing communications
Step 8: Complete Registration
A confirmation message will appear when account creation is successful.
Sign In to the myQ App
- Open the myQ app.
- Enter your email address and password.
Or
Select:
• Apple Sign-In
• Google Sign-In
• Amazon Sign-In
- Tap Login.
You may be prompted for a verification code when signing in from a new device.
Sign Out of the myQ App
- Open Menu.
- Scroll down.
- Tap Sign Out.
- Confirm by selecting OK.
Error 201 – Email Already Exists
If you receive Error 201:
The email address is already associated with a myQ account.
Try the following:
• Sign in using the existing account.
• Use Forgot Password if necessary.
• Reset your password and try again.
Account Sharing
A myQ account is intended for one individual.
Do not share:
• Email addresses
• Passwords
• Login credentials
with family members or other users.
Share Access the Correct Way
If another person needs access to your devices:
- Use myQ Users.
- Invite them as:
• Co-Owner
• Household User
• Quick Pass Guest
Each person should use their own myQ account.
