Use these steps to create, change, or temporarily assign a PIN on compatible myQ keyless entry keypads.

Before You Begin

• Make sure the garage door area is clear.
• Locate the LEARN button on your garage door opener.
• Know the color of your LEARN button.

Program a New 4-Digit PIN

1. Press and hold the * and # buttons until the keypad lights stop blinking.
2. Enter a new 4-digit PIN.
3. Press #.

Select Your Garage Door Opener Type

Press the ENTER button the number of times shown below:

• 1 Press = Yellow LEARN Button (Security+ 2.0)
• 2 Presses = Purple LEARN Button (Security+ 315 MHz)
• 3 Presses = Red/Orange LEARN Button (Security+ 390 MHz)
• 4 Presses = Green LEARN Button (Billion Code 390 MHz)

4. Press 0.
5. Press and release the LEARN button on the garage door opener.
6. Within 30 seconds, enter your new PIN.
7. Press ENTER repeatedly until the opener lights flash or two clicks are heard.

The PIN is now programmed.

Test the New PIN

1. Enter your PIN.
2. Press ENTER.

The garage door should operate.

Create a Temporary PIN

Use a temporary PIN when you want to provide short-term access to guests, contractors, or service providers.

1. Enter your current PIN.
2. Press and hold * until the garage door opener light flashes three times.
3. Enter a temporary 4-digit PIN.
4. Press ENTER.
5. Enter the number of hours the temporary PIN should remain active (up to 255 hours).
6. Press *.

The garage door opener light will flash once to confirm.

Change an Existing PIN

1. Enter the current PIN.
2. Press and hold # until the garage door opener light flashes twice.
3. Enter a new 4-digit PIN.
4. Press ENTER.

The garage door opener light will flash once to confirm the change.

Test the Updated PIN

1. Enter the new PIN.
2. Press ENTER.

The garage door should operate normally.

Good to Know

• Temporary PINs automatically expire after the programmed time period.
• Green LEARN button systems require full reprogramming when changing a PIN.
• The LEARN button is usually located on the rear or side of the garage door opener motor unit.
• If programming fails, repeat the process and verify the correct LEARN button color was selected.
