Use these steps to program, change, or create a temporary PIN on compatible LiftMaster and Chamberlain keyless entry keypads.

Before You Begin
• Make sure the garage door area is clear.
• Have access to either the wall control or garage door opener LEARN button.
• Use a 4-digit PIN you can easily remember.
Program a New PIN Using the Wall Control
- Locate the LEARN button on the wall control.
- Press the LEARN button twice.
- Wait for the Command LED to begin flashing.
- Enter a new 4-digit PIN on the keypad.
- Press ENTER.
The garage door opener lights will flash to confirm programming is complete.
Program a New PIN Using the Garage Door Opener
- Locate the LEARN button on the garage door opener.
- Press and release the LEARN button.
- The LED beside the LEARN button will illuminate.
- Within 30 seconds, enter a new 4-digit PIN on the keypad.
- Press and hold ENTER until the garage door opener lights flash.
The PIN is now programmed.
Change an Existing PIN
- Enter the current PIN.
- Press and hold the # button until the garage door opener lights flash twice.
- Enter a new 4-digit PIN.
- Press ENTER.
The opener lights will flash once to confirm the change.
Create a Temporary PIN
Temporary PINs are useful for guests, contractors, cleaners, or service providers.
- Enter an existing PIN.
- Press and hold the * button until the garage door opener lights flash three times.
- Enter a temporary 4-digit PIN.
- Press ENTER.
Choose How Long the Temporary PIN Works
For a Time Period:
- Enter the number of hours (up to 255).
- Press *.
For a Number of Uses:
- Enter the number of activations (up to 255).
- Press #.
The garage door opener lights will flash to confirm the temporary PIN has been saved.
Factory Reset Information
If you recently moved into a home or want to remove all previously programmed access devices:
- Perform a factory reset on the garage door opener.
- Reprogram all remotes.
- Reprogram all keypads.
- Reconnect any myQ devices.
A factory reset removes all stored remotes, keypads, and myQ connections.
Good to Know
• Temporary PINs can be limited by hours or number of uses.
• The wall control programming method does not require climbing a ladder.
• Existing PINs must be known before they can be changed.
• Factory resetting the opener erases all keypad programming.
