If you change your Wi-Fi network name, password, or replace your router, your Google Nest camera or doorbell must be reconnected to the new network.

Reconnect Using the Google Home App
- Open the Google Home app.
- Tap Home.
- Select and hold the camera or doorbell.
- Tap More Options.
- Tap Settings.
- Select Remove Device.
Important:
• If the device is online, removing it will automatically factory reset it.
• If the device is offline, you must manually factory reset the device.
- Wait for the reset process to complete.
- From the Home screen, tap Add.
- Tap Device.
- Select Scan QR Code.
- Scan the QR code on the camera or doorbell.
- Follow the setup instructions and connect to the new Wi-Fi network.
Reconnect Using the Nest App
- Open the Nest app.
- Tap Settings.
- Select Home Info.
- Tap Home Wi-Fi Help.
- Select the camera you want to update.
- Tap Start.
- Tap Update Settings.
- Follow the prompts to connect to the new Wi-Fi network.
Important: If Home Wi-Fi Help is unavailable, remove the device and add it again using the new Wi-Fi information. Removing the device may delete stored video history, so save important clips before proceeding.
Factory Reset and Setup Again
You may need to reset and set up the device again if:
• The camera or doorbell remains offline.
• Wi-Fi settings cannot be updated.
• The device will not connect to the new network.
• Setup repeatedly fails.
Troubleshooting
• Verify the new Wi-Fi network is working properly.
• Confirm the Wi-Fi password is correct.
• Move the device closer to the router during setup if possible.
• Restart the Google Home or Nest app.
• Complete a factory reset if reconnection continues to fail.
Note: Nest cameras and doorbells must be re-added and configured whenever network credentials or router hardware changes.
