Overview
Guest Mode provides additional privacy when using compatible Google smart speakers and displays.
When Guest Mode is enabled, Google Assistant limits access to personal information and automatically handles activity differently than normal device operation.
Guest Mode can be useful when:
- Hosting visitors
- Sharing a device with guests
- Using a device in a common area
- Limiting access to personal information
Turn Guest Mode On
Anyone with access to the device can enable Guest Mode by voice.
Voice Command
"Hey Google, turn on Guest Mode."
The device will confirm that Guest Mode has been enabled.
Turn Guest Mode Off
To return the device to normal operation:
Voice Command
"Hey Google, turn off Guest Mode."
The device will confirm that Guest Mode has been disabled.
What Happens in Guest Mode
When Guest Mode is active:
✓ Personal results are disabled.
✓ Calendar information is hidden.
✓ Personal contacts are unavailable.
✓ Assistant activity is not associated with the device owner's account.
✓ Voice interactions are handled with additional privacy protections.

Personal Results in Guest Mode
While Guest Mode is active, Google Assistant will not provide personal information such as:
- Calendar events
- Personal reminders
- Saved contacts
- Personalized account information

Some third-party services connected to Google Assistant may continue to process activity according to their own privacy policies.
