Overview
Google Nest and Google Home speakers and displays can make voice and video calls using supported calling services. Depending on your location and setup, you can use Google Meet, Google-supported calling, Google Voice, or Google Fi.
Supported Devices

- Google Nest Mini

Important
- Google Home Max does not support calling.
- Nest Wifi points do not support calling.
- Emergency calling is not supported.
- Outgoing group calls are not supported.

Step 1: Set Up Google Meet Calling
- Open the Google Home app.
- Tap your Profile Picture.
- Select Home Settings.
- Tap Communication.
- Select Video & Voice Apps.
- Tap Google Meet.
- Follow the setup instructions.

Step 2: Set Up Google Voice or Google Fi
- Open the Google Home app.
- Tap Home.
- Select All Devices.
- Press and hold your speaker or display.
- Tap Settings.
- Select Communication.
- Tap Call Providers.
- Choose Google Voice or Google Fi.
- Follow the setup instructions.
Step 3: Enable Personal Results
Personal Results allow Google Assistant to access your contacts for calling.
For Gemini
- Open Google Home.
- Tap Profile Picture.
- Select Home Settings.
- Tap Gemini for Home.
- Select Personal Results.
- Enable Personal Results.
For Google Assistant
- Open Google Home.
- Tap Profile Picture.
- Select Home Settings.
- Tap Google Assistant.
- Select Personal Results.
- Enable Personal Results.
Step 4: Set Up Voice Match
Voice Match allows multiple household members to use their own contacts.

To enable:
- Open Google Home.

- Choose Voice Match.

Step 5: Verify Your Contacts
Your contacts must be stored correctly for calling to work.
Best Practices
- Use unique names.
- Include first and last names.
- Add phone numbers.
- Remove duplicate contacts.

Set Up Household Contacts
Household Contacts allow anyone in the home to call selected contacts from speakers and displays.
Examples:

- Dad
- Grandparents
- Caregivers
- Emergency Contacts
To manage Household Contacts:

→ Home Settings
→ Communication
→ Household Contacts
Turn On Only Ring When Home
This feature prevents incoming calls from ringing your devices when nobody is home.
Enable Only Ring When Home
- Open Google Home.
- Tap Profile Picture.
- Select Home Settings.
- Tap Communication.
- Select Device & Call Settings.
- Tap Only Ring When Home.
- Complete setup.

- Presence Sensing enabled
- Phone location enabled
Turn On Do Not Disturb
Do Not Disturb temporarily blocks:
- Incoming calls
- Broadcast messages
- Reminders
- Notifications
Enable Do Not Disturb
- Open Google Home.
- Select the device.
- Open Settings.
- Enable Do Not Disturb.
Enable or Disable Incoming Calls
Google Meet supports incoming calls on compatible devices.
Manage Incoming Calls
- Open Google Home.
- Tap Profile Picture.
- Select Home Settings.
- Tap Communication.
- Select Video & Voice Apps.
- Enable or disable calling for individual devices.
Remove a Calling Provider
Remove Google Voice or Google Fi
- Open Google Home.
- Tap Profile Picture.
- Select Home Settings.
- Tap Communication.
- Select Call Providers.
- Disconnect the provider.
Common Troubleshooting
Contacts Not Available
Verify:
- Personal Results enabled
- Voice Match enabled
- Contact sync completed
- Contact contains a phone number
Calls Not Ringing
Verify:
- Do Not Disturb is off
- Only Ring When Home settings are correct
- Device is online
- Google Meet is linked
Cannot Receive Calls
Verify:
- Google Meet calling is configured
- Incoming calls are enabled
- Device supports calling
