AT&T Wi-Fi Network Name and Password - Find, View, and Share Wi-Fi Information

Purpose

Use this procedure when a customer needs to locate, view, verify, change, or share their AT&T Wi-Fi network name (SSID) or Wi-Fi password (network key).

Customer Symptoms

Customer wants to:

  • Find their Wi-Fi network name (SSID)
  • Find their Wi-Fi password
  • Connect a new device to Wi-Fi
  • Share Wi-Fi information with family or guests
  • Verify current Wi-Fi settings
  • Locate default Wi-Fi credentials
  • Access Wi-Fi settings through Smart Home Manager
  • Connect smart home devices to Wi-Fi

Option 1: Find Wi-Fi Information on the Gateway Label

The fastest way to locate Wi-Fi information is on the AT&T gateway or All-Fi Hub.

Locate the Label

Look for the label on the:

  • AT&T Wi-Fi Gateway
  • AT&T All-Fi Hub

Information Available

Wi-Fi Network Name:

  • Listed as Wi-Fi Network Name
  • Also known as SSID

Wi-Fi Password:

  • Listed as Wi-Fi Password
  • Also known as Network Key

Important Note

For macOS devices, you may need to enter a "$" at the beginning of the password if instructed by the device.

Option 2: View Wi-Fi Information Through Smart Home Manager

If the Wi-Fi name or password was changed from the default settings, use Smart Home Manager.

Access Smart Home Manager

  1. Open Smart Home Manager.
  2. Sign in with your AT&T account.
  3. Navigate to Wi-Fi settings.
  4. View current Wi-Fi network information.

  • View Wi-Fi name
  • View Wi-Fi password
  • Share Wi-Fi information

  • Update network settings

Option 3: View Wi-Fi Information Through Gateway Settings

If a device is already connected to the network:

  1. Connect to the home Wi-Fi network.
  2. Access the gateway settings page.
  3. Sign in to the gateway.
  4. Locate Wi-Fi settings.
  5. View current network name and password.

Sharing Wi-Fi Information

Customers can share Wi-Fi information with:

  • Family members
  • Guests
  • Smart home devices
  • Computers
  • Phones
  • Tablets
  • Streaming devices

Using Smart Home Manager

  1. Open Smart Home Manager.
  2. Sign in.
  3. Locate Wi-Fi settings.
  4. Share network information as needed.

Troubleshooting

Cannot Find Wi-Fi Password

  1. Check the gateway label.
  2. Open Smart Home Manager.
  3. Access gateway settings.
  4. Verify the password was not previously changed.

Device Cannot Connect

  1. Verify the Wi-Fi name is correct.
  2. Verify the password is entered correctly.
  3. Confirm capitalization and special characters.
  4. Restart the device and try again.

Wi-Fi Information Was Changed

If the default information on the gateway label no longer works:

  1. Open Smart Home Manager.
  2. Sign in to the AT&T account.
  3. View current Wi-Fi settings.
  4. Use the updated network name and password.

Expected Outcome

Customer successfully locates their AT&T Wi-Fi network name and password and can connect devices, share network access, or manage Wi-Fi settings through Smart Home Manager or gateway settings.
