The SmartThings app is organized into several sections that allow you to manage devices, automations, services, and account settings.

Navigation Bar

Use the navigation bar at the bottom of the SmartThings app to access:

Favorites

The Favorites tab serves as your SmartThings dashboard and provides quick access to:

• Favorite devices
• Manually run routines
• Location settings
• Connected services

Edit Favorites

1. Open the SmartThings app.
2. Tap More Options (⋮).
3. Select Edit Favorites.
4. Tap Add (+) to add items.
5. Drag and drop items to rearrange them.

Remove Favorites

1. Tap and hold the item.
2. Select Remove from Favorites.

Devices

The Devices tab allows you to:

• Control devices
• Monitor device status
• Manage rooms
• Organize connected products

Life

The Life tab contains:

• Connected services
• Smart home experiences
• Legacy SmartApps
• Additional SmartThings integrations

Automations

The Automations tab allows you to:

• Create routines
• Manage routines
• Automate smart home actions
• Configure triggers and conditions

Menu

The Menu tab provides access to:

• History
• Notifications
• Android Auto
• Voice Assistants
• Labs
• Help and tutorials
• Notices
• App settings

Access SmartThings Settings

1. Open the SmartThings app.
2. Tap Menu (☰).
3. Tap the Gear (⚙) icon.

Mobile Presence

Mobile Presence allows SmartThings to detect when you arrive or leave using your phone's location services.

Enable or Disable Mobile Presence

1. Open the SmartThings app.
2. Tap Menu (☰).
3. Tap the Gear (⚙).
4. Toggle Get your location from this phone On or Off.

Linked Services

Linked Services connect cloud-based manufacturers and third-party platforms to SmartThings.

View Linked Services

1. Open SmartThings.
2. Tap Menu (☰).
3. Tap the Gear (⚙).
4. Select Linked Services.

Remove a Linked Service

1. Open SmartThings.
2. Tap Menu (☰).
3. Tap the Gear (⚙).
4. Select Linked Services.
5. Tap More Options (⋮).
6. Select Delete.
7. Tap the Minus (-) icon beside the service.
8. Select Delete to confirm.

Good to Know

• Removing a Linked Service also removes devices and routines that depend on that service.
• Mobile Presence can be used as a trigger in SmartThings routines.
• Favorites can be customized to match your most frequently used devices and automations.
• The Devices tab is the primary location for controlling connected devices.
• App settings are accessed through Menu → Gear (⚙).
