Use this guide to connect a myQ Smart Garage Hub, myQ Garage, or Smart Garage Control to the myQ app and pair it with your garage door opener.

Important:
If your garage door opener has built-in Wi-Fi, use the built-in Wi-Fi setup process instead of this guide.
Before You Begin
You will need:
• myQ app installed on a mobile device
• 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network
• Strong Wi-Fi signal in the garage
• Wi-Fi network name and password
• Compatible garage door opener
• Ladder for installation
Step 1: Add the Device
- Open the myQ app.
- Sign in or create an account.
- Tap the Gear (⚙) icon or Plus (+) icon.
- Select Devices.
- Tap Add New Device.
- Select Smart Garage Hub or Smart Garage Control.
Step 2: Prepare the Hub
- Plug in the hub.
- Verify the LED flashes blue.
If the LED does not flash:
- Press and hold the Settings button until the LED flashes blue.
- Release the button.
- Press and hold the Settings button again until the hub beeps.
- Unplug and reconnect power.
Step 3: Connect to Wi-Fi
- Confirm the blue LED is flashing.
- Follow the prompts in the myQ app.
- Select your home Wi-Fi network.
- Enter the Wi-Fi password.
- Wait for connection to complete.
Important:
• Only 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks are supported.
• The hub should be within approximately 50 feet of the router.
If connection fails:
• Verify the Wi-Fi password.
• Confirm 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi is being used.
• Move the hub closer to the router.
• Retry setup.
Step 4: Pair the Door Sensor
- Remove the battery tab from the door sensor.
- Press the sensor button.
- Confirm the hub beeps and flashes.
- Follow the in-app pairing instructions.
- Complete sensor setup.
Important:
The door sensor must be installed correctly before opener pairing can be completed.
Step 5: Pair the Garage Door Opener
- Tap Next after sensor setup.
- Select the garage door opener brand.
- Locate the Learn or Program button on the opener.
- If prompted, select the Learn button color.
- Press and release the Learn button.
- Return to the myQ app.
- Complete pairing.
Note:
The garage door may move during pairing.
Step 6: Name the Garage Door
- Enter a garage door name.
- Tap Next.
- Confirm setup.
Step 7: Mount the Hub
- Mount the hub according to the installation instructions.
- Ensure the warning light remains visible from the garage door.
- Complete installation.
- Tap Finish.
Do not operate the garage door through the app until installation is fully completed.
Troubleshooting
Erase Wi-Fi Settings
Use this procedure if Wi-Fi setup must be repeated.
- Verify the green LED is on or blinking.
- Press and hold the Settings button until the blue LED begins flashing.
- Release the button.
- Reconnect the hub through the myQ app.
Factory Reset
A factory reset removes:
• Wi-Fi settings
• Door sensor pairings
• Garage door opener pairings
To factory reset:
- Press and hold the Settings button until the blue LED flashes.
- Release the button.
- Press and hold the Settings button again until the hub beeps.
The hub will return to factory defaults.
Good to Know
• Smart Garage Hubs require a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection.
• Some older hubs may install firmware updates during setup.
• The door sensor must be paired before the opener can be paired.
• Factory reset removes all previous hub configurations.
• Proper hub placement improves reliability and connectivity.
