myQ – Add a Second Door Sensor to a Smart Garage Hub or Smart Garage Control

Use a second door sensor to control and monitor an additional garage door from the same Smart Garage Hub or Smart Garage Control.

Before You Begin

• Have a compatible second door sensor available.
• Verify your Smart Garage Hub or Smart Garage Control is online in the myQ app.
• Make sure the new door sensor battery tab has not already been removed.

Add the Second Door Sensor

1. Open the myQ app.
2. Tap the Gear icon.
3. Select Devices.
4. Tap Add a New Device.
5. Select Smart Garage Hub.
6. Tap Door Sensor.
7. Choose the Smart Garage Hub or Smart Garage Control you want to pair the sensor with.
8. Remove the battery tab from the new door sensor.
9. Tap Next.
10. Press the button on the door sensor when prompted.
11. Tap Next.

Pair the Door Sensor

1. Follow the on-screen pairing instructions.
2. Press and release the button on the door sensor.
3. Wait for the hub to beep and flash.
4. Tap Next when pairing is complete.

If the hub does not beep or flash, verify the sensor battery and retry pairing.

Install the Door Sensor

1. Follow the installation instructions displayed in the myQ app.
2. Mount the sensor securely to the garage door.
3. Verify the sensor is properly aligned and attached.

Important: The sensor must be installed correctly before pairing the garage door opener.

Pair the Garage Door Opener

1. Tap Next on the Pair to Motor screen.
2. Review the safety information.
3. Use a ladder to access the garage door opener.
4. Select the opener manufacturer.
5. Locate the Learn or Program button.
6. Tap Found It.
7. If prompted, select the color of the Learn button.
8. Press and release the Learn button on the opener.
9. Tap Next.
10. Wait for the opener to pair.

Finish Setup

1. Enter a name for the second garage door.
2. Tap Next.
3. Complete the installation prompts.
4. Tap Finish.
5. Test operation from the myQ app.

Troubleshooting

Both Garage Doors Open at the Same Time

• Verify each door has its own paired door sensor.
• Recheck opener pairing.
• Remove and re-pair the affected door if necessary.

Door Sensor Will Not Pair

• Verify the battery tab has been removed.
• Press the sensor button again.
• Confirm the hub is online.
• Move closer to the hub during pairing.
