Answer:
If your Nest Wifi Pro, Nest Wifi, or Google Wifi network is offline, experiencing connectivity issues, or mesh points are disconnected, follow the steps below to restore service.
Compatible Devices
• Nest Wifi Pro
• Nest Wifi
• Google Wifi
Check Cables and Connections
- Verify the Ethernet cable is securely connected to the WAN port on your Nest Wifi router or primary Google Wifi point.
- Confirm the other end is securely connected to your modem.
- Make sure the modem, router, and all mesh points have power.
- Verify your modem is connected to your internet service provider.
- Check that all cables are firmly connected and undamaged.
Restart Your Network
- Unplug your modem, router, and all Wifi points.
- Wait until all indicator lights are completely off.
- Plug the modem back in.
- Wait approximately 2 minutes for the modem to fully reconnect.
- Verify Ethernet cables remain securely connected.
- Plug in the Nest Wifi router or primary Google Wifi point.
- Wait approximately 1 minute for startup to complete.
- Plug in any additional Wifi points.
- Close and reopen the Google Home app.
- Run a Mesh Test to verify network performance.
Mesh Point Troubleshooting
If only one mesh point is offline:
• Move the point closer to the router.
• Position the point closer to another mesh point.
• Run a Mesh Test after relocating the device.
Check Network Configuration
Google Nest Wifi and Google Wifi use DHCP by default and normally require no additional configuration.
Review WAN Settings if:
• Your ISP requires PPPoE authentication.
• Your ISP provides a Static IP address.
• Internet connectivity stopped after network changes.
PPPoE Configuration
For DSL or Fiber internet connections:
- Open the Google Home app.
- Navigate to WAN Settings.
- Enter your PPPoE username and password provided by your ISP.
- Save the settings and test connectivity.
Static IP Configuration
If your ISP provides a Static IP:
- Open the Google Home app.
- Navigate to WAN Settings.
- Enter the Static IP information supplied by your ISP.
- Save the settings and test connectivity.
Troubleshooting
• Restart the modem and router.
• Verify all Ethernet cables are securely connected.
• Confirm PPPoE or Static IP information is correct.
• Run a Mesh Test after making changes.
• Check device status lights for error conditions.
• Contact your ISP if internet service remains unavailable.
Note: Most connectivity issues are resolved by verifying cabling, restarting network equipment, and confirming WAN configuration settings in the Google Home app
