Nest Learning Thermostats and Nest Thermostat E devices can automatically learn your preferred temperatures or allow you to create and manage custom schedules.

Auto-Schedule
Auto-Schedule is enabled by default and learns your preferred temperatures based on how you adjust the thermostat.
Benefits:
• Automatically creates a heating and cooling schedule
• Adjusts based on your preferences
• Helps improve comfort and energy efficiency
• Updates over time as your habits change
Turn On Auto-Schedule
- Open the Nest app.
- Select your thermostat.
- Tap Settings.
- Select Nest Sense.
- Tap Auto-Schedule.
- Choose Yes.
Nest Thermostat E Basic Schedule
The Nest Thermostat E includes a Basic Schedule option that provides a pre-programmed energy-efficient schedule immediately after setup.
To Use the Basic Schedule:
- Disable Auto-Schedule.
- Reset the thermostat schedule.
- Select Basic Schedule.
- Follow the on-screen setup instructions.
Manage Temperature Schedules in the Nest App
View Your Schedule
- Open the Nest app.
- Select your thermostat.
- Tap Schedule.
Copy a Schedule to Another Day
- Press and hold the day you want to copy.
- Tap Copy.
- Press and hold the destination day.
- Tap Paste.
Add a New Temperature
- Open Schedule.
- Select a day.
- Tap Add.
- Tap the schedule grid.
- Drag the setpoint to choose a time.
- Drag up or down to adjust the temperature.
Edit a Scheduled Temperature
- Open Schedule.
- Select the desired day.
- Press and hold the temperature setpoint.
- Drag left or right to change the time.
- Drag up or down to change the temperature.
Remove a Scheduled Temperature
- Open Schedule.
- Select the desired day.
- Tap Remove.
- Select the temperature setpoint to delete.
Manage Schedules on the Thermostat
View Schedule
- Press the thermostat ring.
- Go to Settings.
- Select Schedule.
Add a Temperature
- Select New.
- Choose a time.
- Select a temperature.
- Press the thermostat to save.
Edit a Temperature
- Highlight the setpoint.
- Select Change.
- Adjust the time or temperature.
- Select Done.
Remove a Temperature
- Highlight the setpoint.
- Press the thermostat.
- Select Remove.
- Confirm the deletion.
Using Nest Temperature Sensors
Compatible Devices

Create a Sensor Schedule
- Open the Google Home app.
- Select your thermostat.
- Tap Schedules.
- Select the Sensors tab.
- Turn on Use Sensor Schedule.
- Select a time block.
- Choose the temperature sensor to use during that period.
Check the Active Sensor
- Open the Google Home app.
- Select your thermostat.
- Tap Sensors.
- The active sensor will be highlighted.
Note: Your thermostat always follows the scheduled temperature. Temperature sensors simply determine which room's temperature is used during specific time periods.
