Overview

A Google Account is required to create and use a Nest app account. If you already use Google services such as Gmail, YouTube, Google Maps, or Google Drive, you can use the same Google Account to sign in to the Nest app.

Once signed in, you can manage compatible Nest products, receive alerts, and access remote controls and automation features.

Before You Begin

You will need:

  • A Google Account
  • The Nest app installed on your phone or tablet
  • Internet access

If you do not have a Google Account, create one before continuing.

Create a Nest App Account

  1. Download and install the Nest app.
  2. Open the Nest app.
  3. Tap Sign In with Google.
  4. Select your Google Account.
    • If your account is not listed, tap Use Another Account.
  5. Review the permissions requested by Nest.
  6. Tap Allow.
  7. When asked if you have an existing Nest account that has not been migrated, select No.
  8. Review and accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policies.
  9. Tap Continue.
  10. Follow the prompts to create your home and begin adding devices.

How to Check if You Already Have a Google Account

You may already have a Google Account if you use:
