Ecobee Thermostat - Adjust Temperature Settings

Purpose

Use this procedure when a customer wants to manually increase or decrease the temperature on an Ecobee thermostat using either the thermostat screen or the Ecobee mobile app.

Customer Symptoms

Customer wants to:

• Change the thermostat temperature
• Increase heating temperature
• Lower cooling temperature
• Adjust room comfort settings
• Change temperature from the Ecobee app
• Change temperature directly on the thermostat

Adjust Temperature on the Thermostat

1. Tap the current temperature displayed on the thermostat home screen.
2. Tap the (+) or (-) icons to increase or decrease the temperature.
3. Tap the temperature display to confirm the new setting.

Adjust Temperature in the Ecobee App

1. Open the Ecobee app.
2. Select the thermostat card.
3. Tap the current temperature.
4. Tap the (+) or (-) icons to increase or decrease the temperature.
5. Tap the temperature display to confirm the new setting.

Troubleshooting

Temperature Will Not Change

1. Verify the thermostat is powered on.
2. Verify the thermostat is connected to Wi-Fi.
3. Refresh the Ecobee app.
4. Check for active schedules that may override manual adjustments.

App Not Updating

1. Close and reopen the Ecobee app.
2. Verify internet connectivity.
3. Confirm the thermostat is online.
4. Check for Ecobee app updates.

Expected Outcome

The customer successfully changes the thermostat temperature using either the Ecobee thermostat display or the Ecobee mobile app, and the new temperature setting takes effect immediately.
