Ecobee Thermostat – Schedule, Edit, or Cancel a Vacation

The Vacation feature helps conserve energy while you're away and automatically returns your home to normal comfort settings when you return.

Schedule a Vacation

On the ecobee App

Open the ecobee app.
Tap Home.
Tap the Account (Person) icon.
Tap Vacation.
Tap Set a Vacation.
Select Depart and choose the departure date and time.
Select Return and choose the return date and time.
Select Vacation Settings.
Set your desired:
- Heating temperature
- Cooling temperature
- Fan runtime
Tap Save.

On the Thermostat

Smart Thermostat Premium / Enhanced

Select Main Menu.
Select General Settings.
Select Vacation.
Select the + icon.
Set the departure date and time.
Set the return date and time.
Adjust Vacation Settings:
- Heating temperature
- Cooling temperature
- Fan runtime
Select Save.

Smart Thermostat Lite / Essential

Select Main Menu.
Select Vacation.
Select the + icon.
Set the departure and return dates.
Adjust Vacation Settings.
Select Save.

Edit a Vacation

On the ecobee App

Open the ecobee app.
Tap Home.
Tap the Account icon.
Tap Vacation.
Select the vacation schedule.
Make the desired changes.
Tap Save.

On the Thermostat

Smart Thermostat Premium / Enhanced

Select Main Menu.
Select General Settings.
Select Vacation.
Select the existing vacation.
Make the desired changes.
Select Save.

Smart Thermostat Lite / Essential

Select Main Menu.
Select Vacation.
Select the existing vacation.
Make the desired changes.
Select Save.

Cancel a Vacation

On the ecobee App

Open the ecobee app.
Tap Home.
Tap the Account icon.
Tap Vacation.
Select the vacation schedule.
Tap Delete Vacation.

Actions

Confirm customer has access to the ecobee app.
Verify thermostat model.
Verify departure and return dates.
Confirm desired heating and cooling settings.
Guide customer through setup, editing, or cancellation.
Verify schedule is saved successfully.
Document actions in Freshdesk.
