Answer:

You can disable the sensor in your thermostat and choose to use only your ecobee SmartSensor(s) or ecobee Room Sensor(s) for temperature and occupancy readings.

How to remove the ecobee thermostat from sensor participation

On the thermostat:

  1. Go to Main Menu > General Settings > Comfort Settings.
  2. Remove the ecobee thermostat from participating in all Comfort Settings.

For Smart Thermostat Lite Owners

  1. Go to Main Menu > Comfort Settings.
  2. Remove the ecobee thermostat from participating in all Comfort Settings.

On the ecobee App

  1. Tap Home.
  2. Select the thermostat.
  3. Open the Menu.
  4. Select Comfort Settings.
  5. Remove the thermostat from participating in all Comfort Settings.

Good to Know

• You can only remove the thermostat as a participating sensor if at least one SmartSensor or Room Sensor is participating in the Comfort Setting.
• If no SmartSensor or Room Sensor is participating in a Comfort Setting, the thermostat cannot be removed from participation.
• SmartSensors and Room Sensors can be used for both temperature and occupancy readings.
