Smart Security Alarm Modes

Arm Away

Use Arm Away when nobody is home.

When enabled, ecobee Smart Security monitors for:

Arm Stay

Use Arm Stay when people are home.

When enabled, ecobee Smart Security monitors selected devices and sensors while allowing normal activity in designated areas.

Managing Devices in Arm Away and Arm Stay

On the ecobee App:

  1. Open the Home screen.

  5. Select the devices and sensors you want monitored.

• Home members receive notifications.
• PIN entry can disarm the system.

If the system is not disarmed before the countdown expires:

• The siren sounds.
• An Activity Alert is generated.

Configuring Entry and Exit Delays

  1. Open the ecobee app.
  2. Tap the Smart Security Gear icon.
  3. Select Arm Away or Arm Stay.
  4. Select Edit Arm Away or Edit Arm Stay.
  5. Adjust Entry Delay and Exit Delay.

Delay Options

• 0 seconds
• 30 seconds
• 1 minute
• 1.5 minutes
• 2 minutes
• 2.5 minutes
• 3 minutes
• 3.5 minutes

Default delay:

• 120 seconds (2 minutes)

PIN Management

Change Your PIN

On the Thermostat:

  1. Go to Main Menu.
  2. Select General Settings.
  3. Select Smart Security.
  4. Select Change PIN.
  5. Enter the current PIN.
  6. Enter the new PIN.

Forgot Your PIN

On the ecobee App:

  1. Tap the Smart Security Settings icon.
  2. Select PIN Management.
  3. Select Reset PIN.
  4. Follow the prompts.
