Once your subscription to ecobee Smart Security is active, you will have access to the Activity Feed in the ecobee app.
The Activity Feed provides a record of important events captured by your ecobee Smart Security system and allows you to review security activity occurring in and around your home.
What is included in the Activity Feed?
Activity Alerts
Activity Alerts are generated when activity is detected while the system is armed in either:
• Arm Away
• Arm Stay
When activity is detected:
- A notification is sent to your mobile device.
- Tap the notification to open the Activity Alert.
- Review information collected from participating sensors and devices.
Activity Alerts provide context by gathering information from multiple ecobee devices and sensors during an incident.
During an active alert you can:
• Stop the siren
• Dismiss the alert
Information continues to be collected until:
• The system is disarmed, or
• No activity is detected for 10 consecutive minutes
Good to Know
• Previous Activity Alerts can be reviewed directly from the Activity Feed.
Monitoring State Changes
The Activity Feed records when a Home member changes the monitoring status.
Examples include:
• Arm Away
• Arm Stay
• Disarm
Door and Window Activity
When compatible ecobee SmartSensor doors and windows detect activity, the following events are recorded:
• Door opened
• Door closed
• Window opened
• Window closed
Camera Clips and Snapshots
When using:
• Smart Doorbell Camera (wired)
• SmartCamera with voice control
Captured clips and snapshots are added to the Activity Feed when recorded by the system.
Motion Alerts
Motion Alerts are added to the Activity Feed when compatible ecobee devices or accessories detect motion while the system is armed.
Good to Know
• The Activity Feed serves as a central location for reviewing security-related events.
• Activity Alerts combine information from multiple devices to provide a complete view of an incident.
• Camera clips, snapshots, motion events, monitoring changes, and sensor activity can all be reviewed from the Activity Feed.
