Google Home – Reconnect a Device to Wi-Fi

Overview

If your Google Nest or Google Home speaker, display, or smart device loses its Wi-Fi connection, you may need to reconnect it to your wireless network.

This commonly happens after:

  • Changing your Wi-Fi network name (SSID)
  • Changing your Wi-Fi password
  • Replacing your router
  • Switching internet providers
  • Factory resetting network equipment

Signs Your Device Is Not Connected

You may notice:

  • Device appears offline in the Google Home app
  • Voice commands do not work
  • Automations fail to run
  • Device cannot be controlled remotely
  • Setup process starts again
