Use this procedure when a customer wants to view multiple Ring cameras simultaneously using Multi-Cam Live View.
Customer Symptoms
Customer wants to:
- View multiple Ring cameras at once
- Monitor several cameras simultaneously
- Use Multi-Cam Live View on Ring.com
- Use Multi-Cam Live View on an iPad
- Manage multiple Live View streams
- Rearrange camera layouts
What Is Multi-Cam Live View?
Multi-Cam Live View allows customers to monitor multiple Ring cameras at the same time.
Supported Limits:
- Up to 4 cameras on Ring.com
- Up to 6 cameras on the Ring app for iPad
This feature is available to:
- Account Owners
- Shared Users
Requirements
Customers must have:
- A compatible Ring subscription
- Compatible Ring cameras
- Active internet connectivity
Supported Platforms
Supported
- Ring.com using a desktop browser
- Ring App for iPad (iPadOS 17 or later)
Not Supported
- Ring App for iPhone
- Ring App for Android phones
- Ring App for Android tablets
Important Information
When multiple cameras are viewed simultaneously:
- Live streams are displayed at 720p resolution.
- Recorded events remain at the device's configured recording resolution.
- Individual Live View sessions continue using the camera's normal resolution settings.
Configuration Steps
Multi-Cam Live View on Ring.com
- Sign into Ring.com.
- Navigate to Cameras.
- Select Start Live Views.
If multiple cameras are available:
- Select Manage Cameras.
- Choose cameras to display.
- Save selections.
Alternate Ring.com Method
- Start Live View on a single camera.
- Select Show More Live Views.
- Choose cameras to add.
- Save selections.
Exit Multi-Cam Live View
- Select the red phone icon.
- Confirm Live View closes.
Configuration Steps for iPad
- Open the Ring app.
- Navigate to the Cameras section.
- Select Show Live Dashboard.
- Choose cameras to display.
- Save selections.
Change Camera Selection
- Open Multi-Cam Live View.
- Select Settings.
- Modify camera selections.
- Save changes.
Live View Controls
Two-Way Talk
- Select a camera tile.
- Select the microphone icon.
- Start or stop Two-Way Talk.
Speaker Controls
- Select a camera tile.
- Tap the speaker icon.
- Turn audio on or off.
Lighting Controls
Supported on Ring.com.
- Select the desired camera.
- Turn associated lights on or off.
Siren Controls
Supported on Ring.com.
- Select the siren icon.
- Activate or deactivate sirens.
- Use Turn Off All if necessary.
Layout Management
Rearrange Cameras
- Drag and drop camera tiles.
- Position cameras as desired.
Change Layout Style
Available options:
- Equal Layout
- Featured Layout
Equal Layout:
- All camera tiles remain the same size.
Featured Layout:
- One camera is displayed larger than the others.
Full Screen Mode
Ring.com
- Select the Full Screen icon.
- View cameras in full-screen mode.
- Select Full Screen again to exit.
iPad
- Landscape orientation supported.
- Portrait orientation supported.
- Compatible with Split View.
- Compatible with Slide Over multitasking.
Troubleshooting Steps
Multi-Cam Live View Not Available
- Verify subscription eligibility.
- Verify supported platform is being used.
- Confirm cameras are online.
- Verify internet connectivity.
Camera Not Appearing
- Open Manage Cameras.
- Verify the camera is selected.
- Confirm the camera is online.
- Refresh Live View.
Poor Live View Performance
- Verify internet speed.
- Reduce the number of active cameras.
- Close unnecessary browser tabs or applications.
- Test again.
Expected Outcome
Customer can monitor multiple Ring cameras simultaneously, manage camera layouts, access supported camera controls, and efficiently view activity across multiple devices from a single screen.
