The ecobee app allows you to manage your ecobee thermostats, cameras, sensors, lights, Smart Security devices, and multiple homes from anywhere.

Downloading the ecobee App

The ecobee app is available for:

• iPhone and iPad
• Android phones and tablets

Compatibility

• iOS 17 or later
• Android 10 or later

Signing In

Before signing in:

1. Register your ecobee device.
2. Create an ecobee account.

To sign in:

1. Open the ecobee app.
2. Enter your ecobee account email address.
3. Enter your password.
4. Tap Sign In.

Managing Homes

Add a New Home

1. Tap Account.
2. Select Manage Homes.
3. Tap Add a New Home.
4. Follow the prompts.

Edit a Home Address

1. Tap Account.
2. Select Manage Homes.
3. Select the Home.
4. Tap Edit.
5. Update the address.
6. Tap Save.

Switch Between Homes

• Tap the green arrow at the top of the Home screen.

Adding Home Members

Invite a Home Member

1. Tap Account.
2. Select Manage Homes.
3. Select the Home.
4. Tap Home Members.
5. Select Invite New Member.
6. Follow the prompts.

Adding Devices

1. Tap the Plus (+) icon.
2. Select Add a Device.
3. Select the device type.
4. Choose:

• Yes, It Is Installed
or
• No, Open Installation Guide

5. Follow the prompts.

Moving Devices Between Homes

1. Tap Account.
2. Select Manage Homes.
3. Select the Home currently containing the device.
4. Tap Devices.
5. Select Move.
6. Choose the destination Home.

Good to Know

• Smart Doorbell Camera and SmartCamera with voice control must be unregistered and re-registered when moving between Homes.

Deleting a Home

1. Tap Account.
2. Select Manage Homes.
3. Select the Home.
4. Tap Delete Home.

Good to Know

• Homes containing active devices cannot be deleted.
• Devices must first be moved or unregistered.

Editing Home Details for Energy Reports

Accurate Home Details help generate energy reporting and community comparisons.

1. Tap Account.
2. Select Manage Homes.
3. Select the Home.
4. Update Home Details information as needed.

Managing Devices Without a Home

If a device has not been assigned to a Home:

1. Tap the alert banner.
2. Select the unassigned device.
3. Choose the Home you want the device assigned to.

Setting a Vacation

1. Tap Home.
2. Tap Account.
3. Select Vacation.
4. Tap Set a Vacation.
5. Follow the prompts.

• The ecobee app serves as the primary tool for managing devices, homes, family members, schedules, and Smart Security features.
• Multiple properties can be managed from a single ecobee account.
